Grand Masti crosses 50 Crore mark

The recently released low budget Bollywood movie Grand Masti crossed a whopping Rs .50 Crore mark. It's still doing well at the box office and is expected to cross more benchmarks.

Grand Masti is an adult comedy which was recently released starring Vivek Oberoi, Ritesh Deshmukh, Aftab Shivdasani in the leading roles. The movie is directed by Indra Kumar. The film has made a history in Box Office collection in making a business of 55 Crore in just 5 odd days.

As a matter of fact, its been observed and now proved that sex actually sells, if marketed in a proper way which has been proved well by the movie itself. The director and other artists of the movie already knew how to attract audiences to theatres even if they do not have a strong story-line with them.

The movie has its special audience of youngsters who crowded theatres to watch the movie. The film, initially promoted as an adult comedy with lots of excitements and thrills all over which actually clicked and the result : it crossed a massive 40 crore mark in its opening weekend itself.

The film is full of adult  and cheap jokes with a well mix of adult comedy. It was made with a budget of around 20 crores but has done well at the box office.

It's the fourth film in a row to get a grand opening in theatres after some big banner films, like Shah Rukh's Chennai Express, Yeh Jawani Hai Dewani of Ranbir Kapoor and Race 2 of Saif Ali Khan, after the movie made Rs. 12.5 Crore on Friday.

However, the collections on Saturday and Sunday was a bit smooth as the film made Rs. 13.22 Crores and Rs. 14.46 Crore.

Although the leading roles played in the film are big stars who entertain the audiences with their cheap adult jokes, but still manage to pull the crowd, especially youngsters at multiplexes and single screens.

The producer of the film Ashok Thakeria was too eager to react about the performance of the film at the box office. He told that they all knew what they have offered to the audience. The movie proved a hit for those aged around 30.

He further told to the media that we know what we have made and even the censor board was too quick in rating the movie with 'A'certificate.

The movie has six charming ladies Manjari Fadnis, Karishma Tanna, Sonalee Kulkarnee, Bruna Abdullah, Mariyam Zakaria and Kainaat Arora.
