Chris Martin expressed the significant impact Back to the Future had on him, stating, “For those of us around our age, Michael J. Fox’s role in that film deeply influenced our aspirations.”

This is what he further added, “It’s surreal to share the stage with him; it feels like being seven years old and in a fantasy. Not to mention, he’s incredibly inspiring, and he played the iconic Marty McFly”.

Chris Martin and Michael J. Fox have teamed up in the past as well. The Coldplay singer had previously introduced the Canadian actor at various charity events and during Coldplay shows. Their first performance together occurred in 2013 at a gala for Fox’s foundation.

Martin reminisced, “Our initial performance was at a charity show, and I asked him if we could do the two songs from Back to the Future. He was incredibly gracious.

In the middle of Earth Angel, he started looking at his hand as if it were vanishing. Maybe some younger audience members today don’t remember, but that moment of the disappearing hand is legendary.

In a recent visit to the Jimmy Fallon Show, the singer discussed his duet with Ed Sheeran at the Golden Citizen Festival 2024 in New York, which occurred roughly a month ago. Martin conveyed his astonishment at the fulfillment of his childhood dream.
